Our Varietals

Geisha

This variety is known for its sweetness, pure and intense flavor that can mimic berry to citrus fruits to mango, papaya, and peach. It has floral notes as well. Geisha arrived in Panama in 1963. Due to the unique terroir in Panama, this variety has flourished. This is the champagne of coffee.

Ethiopian

One of the 3 main subspecies of Arabica. Grown at high altitudes expressed with a fruity profile with strong notes of berries. Floral notes will add a complex layer to this variety.

Catuai

A descendant of the Bourbon variety and a cross between the Mundo Novo and Yellow Caturra. It tends to have bright acidity with hints of citrus and a smooth, balanced body.

Caturra

A sub-species of the Bourbon variety, Caturra is prized for its compact size and sweet flavors. Tasting notes include florals, fruit, citrus, and chocolate.

Bourbon

One of the 3 main sub-species of Arabica, Bourbon is known for its complexity and balance. It has a lively acidity and a sweet, vinous taste. It pairs very well with milk-based beverages. Bourbon coffees reach their best quality at altitudes of 3900-4900 feet above sea level, perfectly suited at our grower’s farm, Café de Eleta.

Typica

One of the 3 main sub-species of Arabica. It is known for its low yields, high cup quality, and can be described as sweet, smooth, and clean. It can have fruity, floral notes with a complex, elegant mouthfeel.
